I'm hooked on Hana Yori Dango at the moment, the Japanese high school version of Meteor Garden. Both series were adapted from a Japanese manga series titled Hana Yori Dango which literally means Boys Over Flower (pardon the gayness...) Taiwan created Meteor Garden in university setting a couple of years earlier before Japan did. Surely you remember the F4 craze?!? Good lords!
Hana Yori Dango has a similar plot, about a girl from a poor family who only wishes to spend her high school years in her very exclusive high school uneventfully but somehow her life becomes entangled with the lives of F4 - four boys who are famous in the school and everywhere else because of their rich and powerful family backgrounds.

I wasn't a fan of Meteor Garden but I quickly fell in love with Hana after I watched the first episode. The series somehow brings back memories from high school, although of course my high school years were not coloured by so many good looking boys and massive big houses (boo hoo!). It's very cute and funny, complete with a good amount of comical gestures like tilted heads and oversized eyes expressing disbelief. There are a few unnecessary tear-jerking scenes but the hilarious dialogues always manage to distract my gagging reflex. The actors who play F4 characters are quite easy on the eyes, but the girl character is totemo kawaii! I was so sure I've seen her in one of J-horror movies but nothing rang a bell when I browsed her profile on imdb.
Once I finish Hana Yori Dango, I think I'm gonna watch Densha Otoko (Train Man). It's supposedly based on a true story, about a computer geek (japanese: otaku) who helps a woman who gets harrassed on a train and later struggles with his geekiness to develop a relationship with her. Yup, leave it to the Japanese to have just-like-in-the-movies real life stories.
I'm now looking for a source to Asunaro Hakusho (The Ordinary People). I remember watching it on RCTI yeaaaaaars ago. I absolutely loved the characters and the soundtrack. Even until now, I couldn't help but smile everytime I play True Love on my iPod. I guess I could be sappy like that.
I tried watching Korean dramas but the only one I truly like is Vineyard Man. Maybe I've watched too many Japanese movies/dramas thus I can't quite get Korean jokes/plots? Dunno. Anyhow, there are several Korean movies that I really like like Ki-duk Kim and Chan-wook Park's movies, so I wouldn't mind giving K-dramas another try if I could get some good recommendations.
This post really shows what a sucker for tv drama I am. Well, as long as the drama stays on telly and not so much in my own life, I'll be a happy audience. Believe me when I say that having one too many Japanese cute boys that you could fool around with is not as fun as it sounds.
Honto desu!
